The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Friday, August 9 reveals Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will go head to head with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).
Also coming up, Devon Winters (Bryton James) will put a ring on Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) finger. Plus, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will give an assist to Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). And Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell) senses the tension between his parents.
Y&R spoilers tease Devon will set up a romantic picnic for Abby at the park. It’ll be complete with Dominic’s favorite foods, including sugar cookies that say Will You Marry Me? Then he’ll get down on one knee and pull out a ring. “I couldn’t be more in love with you,” he’ll say. “So, Abby Newman, would you make me the happiest man on earth and be my wife?”
Y&R Daily Scoop – Summer Doesn’t Want Audra Near Her Son
At Newman Enterprises, Summer will ask Victor for a favor. She’ll tell him Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) thinking about no one but himself. “He certainly isn’t thinking about Harrison. Kyle is at war with his family.” She’ll add that he’s delusional and has partnered up with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Of course, Victor won’t mention he’s the reason Kyle is working with her. “Audra is a snake, I don’t want her anywhere near my son,” Summer will say. “Which is why I have no choice but to sue for sole custody.” She’ll say Kyle and his lawyer are focusing on the fact that she’s not his biological mother, even though she adopted Harrison when they lived in Italy.
So, Victor will ask what it is she wants him to do. Summer will say she wants his advice on how to fight for her son and win. Victor will say he’ll talk to Kyle, and he’ll text him. “Meet me ASAP at the athletic club lounge.”
Back at Chancellor Park, Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) will talk to Harrison about his parents. He’ll say he used to like when they both read him a bedtime story. But they haven’t done that since the divorce. “They don’t love each other,” he’ll tell Claire. “They don’t even like each other.”
Meanwhile, Kyle will show up at the Jazz Lounge and Victor will say he wants to talk about his looming custody battle with his granddaughter. “Summer talked to you,” Kyle will say. “Yeah,” Victor will reply. “And I don’t like what I’m hearing.”
Kyle will tell him Summer has suddenly been questioning every move he makes. “Victor, if anyone’s becoming a problematic parent, it’s Summer.” But Victor will tell him to fix it. “Talk to Summer. You sit down with Summer and you figure this out.”
Young And The Restless Scoop – Phyllis Suggests They Work Together
At the GCAC, Phyllis will walk in and make a sour face when she sees Diane and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) sitting in the restaurant. “Brace yourself, incoming,” Diane will tell Jack when she spots Phyllis. The fiery redhead will walk over and say good morning.
Diane will brag that the night before was their first anniversary. “Congratulations,” Phyllis will say. “I’m truly happy for you.” Then she’ll bring up Summer and Kyle and say they could use all their advice. “You can’t possibly be suggesting that the three of us team up and work together,” Diane will reply.
Phyllis will say Kyle’s making bad decisions for Harrison and treating her daughter like hell. “Come on you two, you have to see he’s off the rails.” She’ll say Kyle has been lashing out at Summer. “He’s going after sole custody, is that not a threat to my daughter?”
But Jack will say Kyle’s seeking custody because Summer started it. And Diane will tell Phyllis it’s clear that she’s the one who’s pushing Summer to seek sole custody. “You fired your son so you could keep your pity job at Jabot,” Phyllis will reply. “You pushed your son aside so you could look like the queen once again.”
Diane will tell Phyllis she’s to blame for Summer and Kyle breaking up in the first place by faking her death. “You watched your children mourn, what kind of a mother does that?” she’ll ask her. “What kind of a person?” Phyllis will remind Diane she faked her death for years. “Jack was a suspect in your alleged murder and so was I.”
Finally, Summer will arrive and she’ll drag Phyllis downstairs. Victor will approach them and tell Summer everything’s been handled. “Summer, tell me you did not ask Victor to help you,” Phyllis will say. But Summer will tell her mom Victor just wants what’s best for Harrison, like she does. “Victor is not above using anything or anyone to get what he wants,” Phyllis will reply. Then Summer will get a text from Kyle, asking to meet.
